Bringing the Joys of Chamber Music to the Next Generation…
This season marks the fifth year of our highly acclaimed educational program, Celebrating Youth. The CY concert, featuring instrumentalists and singers aged 12-18, is regarded by many to be the highlight of SCCP's concert season.
We invite you to come see and hear for yourself what these young people can accomplish after years of private lessons, six months of diligent ensemble work, and intensive coaching from the area's finest music teachers. Challenging repertoire, gifted young performers, and an enthusiastic audience add up to an extraordinary musical experience for all.
Last year, Celebrating Youth participants received many first prizes and other awards in local chamber music competitions, including the Santa Cruz Baroque Festival and the MTAC Talent Bank competition. Two of our previous students have been featured on NPR's From the Top.
