A guitar and a string quartet: twenty-two strings vibrating in harmony, plucked or bowed, blending in complimentary sounds—this musical journey will carry you to Austria, Italy, Spain and Turkey for the price of just one ticket! You will hear classical pieces and also tunes from the local folklore.
An instrument at the crossroads of classical and popular cultures, the guitar functions equally well whether accompanying or performing solo within a group, as featured in this concert. And a surprise awaits the audience when the cellist switches to percussion in the fandango movement of the Boccherini quintet.
